Hello there! I’m Emma Choy an Asian Australian actor, singer and producer working and living in Melbourne, Australia!
I started in the biz at just 16 years old when I co-founded my very first theatre company. Since then, I have worked extensively as an actor and singer in many places around the world including England, Ireland, Jordan, China, the Netherlands and Australia. I continue to grow my breadth of work, most recently as Creative Producer (and lead actress) on comedy series ‘Til you make it, written by Philip Hayden (my hubby - also an actor by the way - with whom I share two beautiful girls…) and directed by Scott Major. Look out for this one in 2024!
I was born in Singapore to an Aussie-Welsh mum and a Hong Kong-Chinese dad. I lived in China for six months waaay back in the late nineties and learnt Mandarin. It’s been a while since I’ve spoken it (…cough 1996), but if needed, it’ll come back in a flash! I can also pull a pretty mean Welsh accent out the bag when needed. So, if you’re after a truly multicultural actor then I’m your gal!
My early training began after I won a scholarship to St Martin’s Youth Theatre and from there went on to study Musical Theatre at WAAPA. I am an ongoing student of world renowned acting teacher Howard Fine whose clients include Acadamy Award winner Austin Butler, Brad Pitt, Jennifer Connelly, Jared Leto and Bradley Cooper.
